My name is Derek A. Kirsopp, and I am excited to be officially on the Democratic ballot as a candidate for Magisterial District Judge, for North and South Whitehall, in Lehigh County Pennsylvania.  The Magisterial District is 31-2-02.

As a candidate for MDJ, I am required to conduct myself in a manner respectful of the position I am running for; with ethics, integrity, and impartiality, even in my personal life.

As a registered democrat, I am a moderate at heart, so my own political viewpoints are somewhere in the middle, like most Americans! I don't lean far left or right, but I do respect the rights of every American, which is exactly what is needed to be a magisterial district judge.  Impartiality!

My political views about our courts, are more in line with what our founders, and our first president, George Washington intended: A centralized government, of the people, for the people, by the people. Free from political party corruption and tyranny. Every American deserves to be treated as an individual, with equal rights under the law, and impartiality.

Judge of Elections:

I am also a current, serving, Judge of Elections for North Whitehall District 3.

I work with a great team of non-partisan democrats and republicans, to help keep our elections running smoothly, honestly, and ethically, amidst a relentless barrage of baseless conspiracy theories.  I am well versed in election laws, and election equipment.  I have been trained on every piece of election equipment we use in an election, and I am responsible for hand delivering the ballots, to the county, after the polls close.

I work with a dedicated team of both republicans and democrats, who are equally as ethical as I am. We never have to worry about the countless, bogus claims of election fraud, by political candidates, their lackeys, and their partisan media.  I've heard every conspiracy theory, hundreds of times, and just have to shrug them off.

North Whitehall Voters will not see me working as Judge of Elections this time!

As per the rules of ethics pertaining to elections, and candidates:

I will not be legally permitted to work as a Judge of Elections in both the May and November elections, at North Whitehall District 3, because I am running as a candidate for MDJ.  Although I hold myself and my team to an extremely high standard of conduct, I have notified the Lehigh County Board of Elections, to voluntarily recuse myself from both North Whitehall and South Whitehall, as they are the Magisterial Districts in which I am a candidate for Magisterial District Judge.  I am confident, whomever the county assigns in my place, will be able to handle the task.

Since there is a current shortage of election volunteers:

I may be asked to serve as a Judge of Elections in another district, outside of the North and South Whitehall Magisterial Districts.  This is permitted by law, as there is no conflict of interest in a district not effected by my candidacy.  As of the time of this posting, I have not been assigned an alternative district to work as a J.O.E.

FYI: Your Vote is Safe and Secure!

No, there are no “backdoor chips” in the ballot scanners.

No, you can’t insert any old flash drive into the scanner, or change votes.

No, the ballot scanners can’t be hacked.

No, there’s no modem, or other mechanism that can manipulate your vote.

No, I can’t reprogram the ballot scanner, or access it remotely. (It’s just a scanner)

No, nobody will change, alter, or destroy your vote or your ballot.

No, the conspiracy theories about “wide-spread” election fraud aren’t true!

I am on the Ballot twice:

  1. Magisterial District Judge

  2. Judge of Elections

Please Note:

I have contacted both the Board of Elections, and the PA State Ethics Commission, to confirm that I am legally allowed to run for both positions. As a Judge of Elections, the position is only a couple of days per year. For now, I am running unopposed, so my candidacy for the J.O.E. Position is basically a formality.
